Emmy in the Body Shop

Thank you everyone for your great references for body work for my 2.8. Funny thing is the place I chose, happens to be in the same town where I had the accident. Bob Smith, (NE convoy's fearless leader) had good service there before amd teh shop was "BMW Certified". They scared me a little bit because he was saying that it would be better to work with the existing parts (he said the paint would stick better to the original painted parts?) and he was pretty knocked off his feet when he saw the estimate from the body shop in Spartanburg. In case you ever need work in Spartanburg, the people at Campbell's were great. The estimate had already included new BMW replacement parts :-).

He explained to me in detail greater than I understand about the paints. He is using "Glazerite". He swears BMW hasn't allowed them (or anyone, due to EPA standards) to buy paint in years, and that when BMW has to make a repair at the factory, they use Glazerite too. I dunno. Color me praying a lot.

On the way out to Harrisburg (two hour drive) I decided that Emmy wasn't going to need a Purple Heart vanity plate (PRPL HRT) because she wasn't going to be battle scarred. What she deserves is a present :-). She needs a vanity plate that is more like jewelry than a medal, so I am getting her ESMRLDA. Maybe when I pick her up from her body spa, I will be able to give her name as a present. That's what a lady likes, a trip to the spa and a present. :-)

I said goodbye to Esmerelda- left her at the spa. As I was leaving one of the guys made a comment about me sort of obsessing about my car. I smiled at him and said "There are 500 of us."

Feels good.

Yes, Bruce, you told me so. Yes Bruce, you told me so.

When I filled out the certified mail reciepts for the insurance report and the ticket (now there's a strange trip to the mailbox) the RRR numbers started with "Z3" ooOOOOOOEEEEEEOOOOUUuuuuuu.

I leave Thursday morning to go overseas until Oct7- can't figure out how to get back in time to get out to Harrisburg, bring Emmy back and get up to Cape Cod in time for the Cape Cod cruise (Oct 10) but I am going to try.

So...here I sit with a little toy car of Emmy- same paint ::::sigh:::: drinking from my Emmy car coffee mug. I felt kind of bad when I took the blanket out of the trunk. :::sniff::: Well, she'd just be sitting in the garage anyway.

o/ What a long long time to be gone and a short time to be there.. /o
