"I drove my Estoril Blue 98 M Roadster from Americus, GA to Spartenburg for
the rally.  It was my first Z3 homecoming and will surely be one of many to
come.  My car was all of 3 weeks old and did well, since I had not actually
completed the breakin period until I reached Athens, GA.

Lets just say, that the last 90 miles of the trip were made at a different
pace.  Wow.

This is my second Z3. Until June 1998, I drove a 1997 Boston Green Z3 2.8
with full options.  IT was my dream car, one that I ordered and
painstakingly waited for almost 3 months.  And then, after one test drive in
an M roadster and I was hooked. My Z3  2.8 was gone, with only 7000 miles
after 14 months of fun. Meanwhile, I waited and hoped that my new car would
arrive in time for the homecoming.  I took delivery on August 8th.

The homecoming was great fun. I brought my teenage son, Ian, along as
copilot. We only got lost twice on the Sunday road trip, fortunately, after
lunch....

We got to the photo shoot late, but were able to zip right in the back row,
just in front of one of the tents. "
