Communal Bathing...12
I hadn't seen the video that now comes with a new Z3, and watching it with these guys was like MST3K.

Somewhere around here we all noticed that none of us had eaten. Food? Oh right, food.
We picked up Rita, parked the babies all in a row and got some hellacious pizza.

Afterwards,
Mick took a tiny little spin in Emmy to check out her Dinan Chip and Cold Air Intake. As he took off in her we all watched. She sounded SOOOOOOO GOOOOOD! I wish I had a picture of his face when he got out of the car. Rita was laughing so hard she could barely yell at Mick, "No! You can't have one!!!"
Naturally no day is complete without someone nearly wrecking a Z3. We stopped for gas and
Mick parked his car away from the pumps. In a flash he was running back to his car screaming to get the attention of the clunker that whirled around from out of nowhere, backing up nearly into Mick's baby. :(

I still wanted to put the Z2 and Show polish on Emmy. When I got home, I used my water bottle again to remove the surface dirt on Emmy, and some of the Zaino quick detailer, put on her magnets and Stone and Door Guards on and gave her to the attendant to park and cover.
Today was sparkly bright sunshine. Argh. Oh well, at least I wasn't washing her in direct sunlight. I was supposed to go to class today. I thought, well gee, I better get the polishes on the car before a coating of garage emissions sneaks under her cover. I remembered reading about people on the MB who had problems wiping off the Zaino because it was taking too long to dry, so I figured I'd put a coat on before class, and wipe it off after class.
Jon says:
This morning I woke up with a song in my head when I was thinking aboutyesterday.

(with apologies to Gene Kelly), and yes, I've gone over the edge!

Iiiiii'm Waaaashin' in the Rain,
Just Waaaashin' in the Rain!

What a Glooooorious Feelin'
I'm happy again!
Trudge trudge trudge to the basement. Happily there isn't much action in the garage on a Sunday so it was minimum carbon monoxide for me, and the Jag who parks next to me was out so I had more room. I unwrapped her like a Christmas present.
I applied the Z2, in the dimly lit space and by the time I had been once around the car, it was dry.
Hmmmmm.
Whether 'tis nobler to stay and polish my car or to go to class like I have been doing since November.....
Hmmmm. Gee, if it dried so fast, it must be the Show Polish that takes so long to dry. So I wiped off the Z2 and went for the Show Polish.
By the time I had been once around the car, once again, it was dry. By now I knew I was blowing off my class. Girl's gotta live a little. I was Zainoing every painted surface I could find, inside the engine and inside the trunk. It was because of the Zaino Show Polish that I realized the chuckleheads who repaired my trunk lid after the Homecoming 98 accident had only finished painting one gutter and left the other without a clearcoat. :(
In the darkness.
I was dying to see what a couple layers of Zaino Show Polish could do, I had read so much about how much deeper the gloss can be with many layers. I remembered what I read on the MB. Never circular motions, only straight back and forth. The car was cool, like it says in the directions. I was sweating up a storm and actually worrying if my sweat drops would be bad for the shine. The garage guys passed by a couple times. They are used to me by now. I wanted to do the interior and was even considering using my little mini vacuum, but it was too dark. I Show Polished Emmy's personalized Chrome Stone Guards. I could see myself in Emmy's shine and the Chrome Stone Guards were like a mirror.
Lemme tell ya, this car is looking good. It took me 2 hours to do one Z2 and two coats of Show Polish on a rainy humid day. I have no clue how the other folks had such problems- ya know since it is me doing the job it has nothing to do with skill.
I will be looking for an opportunity to do the interior, vacuum and Lexol.
Now, of course all I want to do is drive!
Thanks especially to
Mick and Rita and Mick's parents and to my Z3 buddies. Mick's Dad saw the rain and said he figured none of us would show up! HA! Can you believe he'd actually have us BACK? He is thinking of inviting more Z3ers for a BBQ! Road trip!
Please
Mick and JonT and Tom Y , update me on the specific products and anything else I forgot to mention, and especially all the rude comments we were making!
